- Sticky rice - 200 grams
- Gac fruit puree - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 100 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Roasted peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed
- Fresh banana leaves - for wrapping (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it for about 20 minutes until it is tender.
- In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves but do not boil.
- Once the rice is steamed, transfer it to a mixing bowl and add the gac fruit puree, coconut milk mixture, and mix well until the rice is evenly colored.
- Return the colored rice to the steamer and steam for another 10 minutes to ensure the flavors meld together.
- To serve, mold the sticky rice into a dome shape and sprinkle with crushed roasted peanuts and sesame seeds. Optionally, wrap in banana leaves for presentation.
