- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 250 ml
- Sesame seeds (toasted) - 2 tablespoons
- Scallions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
- In a small bowl, mix the gấc fruit pulp with the coconut milk, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Pour the gấc mixture over the drained rice and toss gently to coat the rice evenly.
- Steam the rice for about 30-35 minutes, or until the rice becomes tender and sticky. Check occasionally to ensure it doesn't dry out.
- Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and let it sit for 5 minutes.
