Ingredients

  • Mung beans - 200 grams
  • Coconut milk - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish

Steps

  1. Rinse the mung beans under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak them in water for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. After soaking, drain the mung beans and place them in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth or a thin kitchen towel.
  3. Fill a pot with water, bring it to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Place the steamer basket over the pot, cover, and steam the mung beans for about 15 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Once steamed, transfer the mung beans to a mixing bowl. Add coconut milk, salt, and stir until well combined.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with chopped cilantro and black sesame seeds.
