- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch thick slices.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, lime juice, black pepper, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu slices to the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the grill surface.
- Place the marinated tofu slices on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly charred.
- Once cooked, remove the tofu from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions, fresh cilantro, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
