- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, basil) - 1 cup, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Carrots - 1, julienned
- Chili sauce (for dipping) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Slice the pork shoulder into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, shallots, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
- Add the pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the pork from the marinade and thread onto skewers, if using.
- Grill the pork for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the pork is grilling, prepare a plate with fresh herbs, lettuce leaves, cucumber slices, and julienned carrots.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
