  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Shallots (minced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
  • Rice vermicelli - 100 grams

Steps

  1. Cut the pork shoulder into thin strips and place them in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the minced garlic, shallots, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, lemon juice, and vegetable oil to create a marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. While the pork is marinating, prepare the shrimp by tossing them in a little salt and pepper.
  5. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Thread the marinated pork and shrimp onto skewers, alternating between the two.
  7. Grill the skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the pork is cooked through and the shrimp are opaque.
  8. Meanwhile, cook the rice vermicelli according to package instructions and rinse with cold water.
  9. Once cooked, serve the skewers on a plate with lettuce leaves, sliced cucumber, and rice vermicelli, garnished with chopped cilantro.
