- Fish sauce - 15 ml
- Brown sugar - 10 grams
- Five spice powder - 5 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Shallots - 2, finely chopped
- Black pepper - 2 grams
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Lime juice - 15 ml
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
- Cooking oil - for grilling
Steps
- Cut the pork shoulder into thin slices, about 1 cm thick.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, five spice powder, minced garlic, shallots, black pepper, sesame oil, and lime juice to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced pork to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates.
- Remove the pork from the marinade, shaking off excess liquid, and place it on the grill.
- Grill the pork for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with steamed rice or lettuce wraps.
