- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Sriracha sauce - to taste
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, mix together minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Cut the pork shoulder into thin strips and add to the marinade. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated pork for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the pork is grilling, toast the gluten-free burger buns on the grill until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, adding a layer of lettuce, the grilled pork, cucumber slices, chopped cilantro, and mint.
- Drizzle with sriracha sauce to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with extra cucumber slices on the side.
