  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Rice vermicelli - 100 grams, cooked

Steps

  1. Cut the pork shoulder into thin slices and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped shallots, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and lime juice to create the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the pork slices and mix well to ensure even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with vegetable oil.
  5. Once hot, grill the marinated pork slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. While the pork is grilling, prepare the rice vermicelli according to package instructions and set aside.
  7. To serve, place a portion of rice vermicelli on a plate, top with grilled pork, and garnish with fresh cilantro and lettuce leaves.
