Steps
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped shallots to the pan, sautéing until fragrant and golden brown.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- In a small bowl, mix together the tamarind paste, fish sauce, brown sugar, and sliced red chili.
- Pour the tamarind mixture over the cooked shrimp and stir well to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
