Ingredients
- Large shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300 grams
- Scallions (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili flakes (optional) - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the vegetable oil, minced garlic, fish sauce, lime juice, black pepper, salt, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the shrimp marinates, prepare a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Once the grill is hot, skewer the marinated shrimp on skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes beforehand).
- Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
- In a separate small pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat and add the chopped scallions. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until tender and fragrant.
- Remove the shrimp from the grill and drizzle the warm scallion oil over the grilled shrimp before serving.
