Ingredients
- Large shrimp - 400 grams (peeled and deveined)
- Butter - 50 grams (unsalted)
- Garlic - 4 cloves (minced)
- Lime juice - 30 ml (freshly squeezed)
- Fish sauce - 15 ml
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - ½ teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams (chopped for garnish)
- Lime wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, and chili flakes if using.
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with the garlic butter marinade and toss to coat evenly. Allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers for easy grilling.
- Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
- Remove from the grill and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
