- Red chili - 1, sliced (optional for spice)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges for serving
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with minced garlic, ginger, lemongrass, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated.
- Add the beer to the bowl and let the shrimp marinate for about 15 minutes.
- Preheat your steamer or set a pot of water to boil with a steaming rack inside.
- Place the marinated shrimp in a single layer on a heatproof plate, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Sprinkle chopped cilantro, green onions, and sliced red chili over the shrimp.
- Carefully place the plate in the steamer or on the steaming rack, cover, and steam for about 10-12 minutes or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
- Remove the plate from the steamer and let it cool slightly before serving.
