Ingredients

  • Fresh scallops - 400 grams

  • Scallions - 4 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges
  • Cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the chopped scallions to the saucepan, cook for another 2 minutes until they soften. Remove from heat.
  4. In a bowl, combine the fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Brush each scallop with the fish sauce mixture.
  6. Place the scallops on the preheated grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are opaque and slightly charred.
  7. Once cooked, remove the scallops from the grill and drizzle the scallion oil on top.
  8. Serve hot with lime wedges and garnish with fresh cilantro.
