Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 50 ml
- Fish sauce - 30 ml
- Honey - 20 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Shallots - 2, minced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 30 ml
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced shallots, black pepper, five-spice powder, lime juice, vegetable oil, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill or BBQ to a medium-high heat.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and shake off excess marinade. Reserve the marinade for basting while grilling.
- Place the ribs on the grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved marinade every 5 minutes, until the ribs are nicely charred and cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve the grilled ribs hot, garnished with fresh herbs and lime wedges, alongside steamed rice or a fresh salad.
