- Star anise - 1 whole
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh coriander - for garnish
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped shallots, black pepper, star anise, cinnamon powder, five-spice powder, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Grill the ribs for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have a nice char on the outside.
- Once cooked, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with a side of low-carb vegetables or a salad.
