Ingredients

  • King oyster mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Lime juice - 20 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Rice paper sheets - 4

Steps

  1. Clean the king oyster mushrooms and slice them into thick rounds, about 1.5 cm each.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, and chili flakes to make the marinade.
  3. Add the mushroom slices to the marinade and let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
  5. Remove the mushrooms from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they develop grill marks and are tender.
  6. While grilling, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing any remaining marinade with chopped fresh cilantro.
  7. Once grilled, serve the mushrooms warm, wrapped in rice paper, with the cilantro dipping sauce on the side.
