Ingredients

  • Chinese broccoli (Rau cải) - 200 grams
  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 150 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 50 ml

Steps

  1. Wash the Chinese broccoli thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Stir in the Chinese broccoli pieces and add 50 ml of water to help steam the vegetables.
  6. Cover the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
  7. Remove the lid and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and salt to taste.
  8. Stir everything together and cook for an additional minute to combine the flavors.
  9. Serve hot as a side dish.
