- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 3 grams
- Olive oil - 10 ml
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams
- Vietnamese sausage (gio lua) - 50 grams, sliced
- Bell pepper - 50 grams, sliced
- Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Chili sauce - 30 ml (optional)
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 10-inch round on a floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread a thin layer of chili sauce over the dough, if using.
- Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese over the dough, then add the sliced Vietnamese sausage and bell pepper.
- Sprinkle with black pepper and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
