- Sriracha sauce - for serving
- Broth (kosher beef broth) - 1/2 cup
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, star anise (crushed), cinnamon powder, black pepper, fish sauce, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, warm the kosher beef broth in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, then adding chopped cilantro, basil, and bean sprouts.
- Drizzle some warm beef broth over the top and add Sriracha sauce to taste.
