Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, star anise (crushed), cinnamon powder, black pepper, fish sauce, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, warm the kosher beef broth in a small saucepan over low heat.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, then adding chopped cilantro, basil, and bean sprouts.
