  • Young green jackfruit - 200 grams, chopped
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and add the chopped young jackfruit. Boil for 10 minutes until tender.
  2. Drain the jackfruit and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the cooled jackfruit to the marinade and mix well to ensure all pieces are coated.
  5. Cover the bowl and let the jackfruit marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle with fresh cilantro for added freshness and flavor.
