- Bitter melon - 200 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the bitter melon under cold water, cut it in half lengthwise, and remove the seeds. Slice it thinly.
- In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the sliced bitter melon to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until it starts to soften.
- Sprinkle in turmeric powder, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Stir well to combine and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the bitter melon is cooked through but still slightly crunchy.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
