- Beef brisket - 200 grams
- Rice noodles - 100 grams
- Beef bone broth - 1 liter
- Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 cm piece, sliced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Bean sprouts - 100 grams
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
- Chili sauce - to taste
Steps
- In a pot, heat a little oil over medium heat and sauté the shallots, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the beef brisket to the pot and sear on all sides until browned.
- Pour in the beef bone broth and bring to a simmer. Add fish sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper.
- Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, until the beef is tender.
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the rice noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Once the beef is tender, remove it from the pot and slice it thinly.
- In serving bowls, divide the cooked noodles and top with sliced beef.
- Ladle the hot broth over the noodles and beef, then garnish with bean sprouts, green onions, cilantro, and lime wedges.
- Serve with chili sauce on the side for those who like extra heat.
