Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams, thinly sliced
  • Lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely minced
  • Red chili - 1, finely sliced (adjust to taste)
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander - for garnish
  • Rice - 150 grams (to serve)

Steps

  1. Marinate the sliced chicken in fish sauce, lime juice, black pepper, and sugar for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced lemongrass, garlic, and shallots to the pan, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to high and add the marinated chicken to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Add the sliced red chili and stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary, then remove from heat.
  7. Serve the Gà Xào Sả Ớt hot, garnished with fresh coriander, alongside steamed rice.
