- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon (optional for sweetness)
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped shallots, coconut aminos, fish sauce, five-spice powder, black pepper, honey (if using), lime juice, and olive oil to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours to enhance flavor.
