Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, thinly sliced
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, julienned
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4, for serving
  • Chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef with fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, sugar, and black pepper. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked and browned.
  3. While the beef is cooking, prepare the vegetables: julienne the red bell pepper, cucumber, and carrot. Set aside.
  4. Once the beef is done, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef with the julienned vegetables, chopped cilantro, and mint. Toss gently to mix all ingredients well.
  6. Serve the mixture on a bed of lettuce leaves and garnish with sliced chili pepper if desired.
