- Beef sirloin - 300 grams, thinly sliced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 4, for serving
- Chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef with fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, sugar, and black pepper. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked and browned.
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the vegetables: julienne the red bell pepper, cucumber, and carrot. Set aside.
- Once the beef is done, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef with the julienned vegetables, chopped cilantro, and mint. Toss gently to mix all ingredients well.
- Serve the mixture on a bed of lettuce leaves and garnish with sliced chili pepper if desired.
