Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Red bell pepper - 1/2, julienned
  • Fresh mint leaves - 1/4 cup, roughly chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, roughly chopped
  • Chili pepper - 1 small, sliced (optional)
  • Peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, fish sauce, sugar, and minced garlic. Stir until the sugar is dissolved to make the dressing.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  3. Remove the skillet from heat and let the beef cool for a few minutes. Then, add it to the bowl with the dressing and mix well.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the julienned carrot, cucumber, red bell pepper, mint, cilantro, and sliced chili pepper if using.
  5. Pour the beef and dressing mixture over the vegetables and toss everything together until well coated.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with crushed peanuts on top.
