Ingredients

  • Jasmine rice - 200 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Carrot, diced - 1 medium
  • Green peas - 50 grams
  • Red bell pepper, diced - 1/2 medium
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Tofu, diced - 100 grams
  • Green onions, sliced - 2 stalks
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool. For best results, use rice that has been cooked and refrigerated for at least a few hours or overnight.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the diced tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the diced carrot and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Add the green peas and cooked rice to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the vegetables with the rice.
  6. Pour the soy sauce over the rice and stir to evenly coat. Add the cooked tofu back into the skillet and mix well.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle the sesame oil over the rice and stir to combine.
  8. Finally, sprinkle the sliced green onions on top before serving. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Com Chien.
