Ingredients
- Mung beans - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Water - 500 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Pandan leaves - 2 pieces (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the mung beans under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak them in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked mung beans and place them in a pot with 500 ml of fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
- Cook the mung beans for about 20 minutes, or until they are soft and mushy. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once cooked, add the sugar and salt, stirring until dissolved. If using pandan leaves, tie them into a knot and add them to the pot for extra aroma.
- Slowly pour in the coconut milk and mix well. Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. You can serve it warm or chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
