Ingredients
- Raw peanuts - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Brown sugar - 50 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Tapioca pearls - 30 grams (optional)
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the raw peanuts under cold water and soak them in water for at least 2 hours or overnight for a softer texture.
- After soaking, drain the peanuts and place them in a pot with 500 ml of fresh water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes until the peanuts are tender.
- If using tapioca pearls, cook them separately according to package instructions until they are translucent and chewy, then drain and set aside.
- Once the peanuts are cooked, add the coconut milk, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt to the pot. Stir well and simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- If using, add the cooked tapioca pearls to the mixture and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Serve the Chè Đậu Phộng warm or chilled, garnished with additional peanuts or coconut flakes if desired.
