Ingredients

  • Raw peanuts - 100 grams
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Brown sugar - 50 grams
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Salt - 1 pinch
  • Tapioca pearls - 30 grams (optional)
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the raw peanuts under cold water and soak them in water for at least 2 hours or overnight for a softer texture.
  2. After soaking, drain the peanuts and place them in a pot with 500 ml of fresh water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes until the peanuts are tender.
  3. If using tapioca pearls, cook them separately according to package instructions until they are translucent and chewy, then drain and set aside.
  4. Once the peanuts are cooked, add the coconut milk, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt to the pot. Stir well and simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. If using, add the cooked tapioca pearls to the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Serve the Chè Đậu Phộng warm or chilled, garnished with additional peanuts or coconut flakes if desired.
