Ingredients

  • Young jackfruit - 200 grams, chopped
  • Coconut milk - 400 ml
  • Tapioca pearls - 50 grams
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Pandan leaves - 2, tied in a knot
  • Water - 500 ml

Steps

  1. In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and add the tapioca pearls. Cook for about 15 minutes or until they are translucent, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  2. Once cooked, drain the tapioca pearls and rinse them under cold water. Set aside.
  3. In the same pot, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add the pandan leaves and bring the mixture to a simmer over low heat.
  4. Stir in the chopped young jackfruit and the cooked tapioca pearls. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  5. Remove the pandan leaves and serve the Chè Mít warm or chilled in bowls.
