Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (such as catfish or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Dill, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Shallots, thinly sliced - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Rice noodles - 100 grams
  • Peanuts, crushed - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, basil) - 1 cup
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine turmeric powder, dill, minced garlic, sliced shallots, fish sauce, lemon juice, and black pepper.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the fish is marinating, cook the rice noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  4. Heat a grill or a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove the fish from the marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. To serve, place a portion of rice noodles on each plate, top with grilled fish, and garnish with crushed peanuts and fresh herbs.
  7. Wrap the fish and noodles in lettuce leaves and enjoy!
