Ingredients

  • Cassava starch - 100 grams
  • Water - 400 ml
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Palm sugar - 80 grams
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Toppings (optional): toasted sesame seeds, crushed peanuts - to taste

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, mix the cassava starch with 200 ml of water until smooth.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and continuously stir until the mixture thickens and becomes translucent, about 10 minutes.
  3. In another pot, combine the coconut milk, remaining 200 ml of water, palm sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over low until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Once the cassava mixture is thickened, pour it into a serving bowl or individual cups.
  5. Drizzle the sweet coconut milk over the top of the cassava mixture.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crushed peanuts before serving.
  7. Serve warm or chilled, as desired.
