Ingredients
- Mướp (gourd) - 200 grams, cut into thin slices
- Shrimp - 150 grams, peeled and deveined
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Shallots - 1 small, finely chopped
- Chicken or vegetable broth - 500 ml
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Vegetable oil - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander - for garnish
Steps
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallots, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the pot and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into the pot and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the sliced mướp (gourd) to the broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the gourd is tender.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the pot, add fish sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
