- Snakehead fish - 300 grams, cleaned and cut into pieces
- Water - 1 liter
- Tomatoes - 2 medium, chopped
- Daikon radish - 100 grams, sliced
- Fresh ginger - 1 thumb-sized piece, sliced
- Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
- Fresh Thai basil - 20 grams, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
- Add the sliced ginger and shallots to the boiling water and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and sliced daikon radish to the pot and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Carefully add the snakehead fish pieces to the pot and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
- Stir in the fish sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro and Thai basil before serving.
