  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a pot, heat a little oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic and sliced onion until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp to the pot and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Add the sliced bitter melon and reduce the heat to a simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the gourd is tender.
  5. Season the soup with fish sauce, salt, and black pepper to taste.
