Ingredients

  • Bluefin tuna steak - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Lemongrass - 1 stalk, finely chopped
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix together minced garlic, chopped lemongrass, fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, black pepper, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
  2. Place the bluefin tuna steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the fish is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with vegetable oil.
  4. Remove the tuna from the marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Once done, remove the tuna from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the grilled tuna garnished with fresh cilantro and enjoy with steamed rice or a fresh salad.
