Ingredients

  • Fresh tuna steak - 250 grams
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Chili pepper - 1, finely chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine fish sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped chili pepper, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the tuna steak into bite-sized cubes and add them to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated tuna and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown but still tender in the center.
  4. While the tuna is cooking, prepare a fresh herb salad by mixing chopped cilantro and mint in a bowl.
  5. To serve, place seared tuna on a plate alongside lettuce leaves and cucumber slices. Top with the fresh herb salad and drizzle any remaining marinade over the top.
