Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or snapper) - 300 grams
  • Fresh lime leaves - 8 leaves
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, honey, black pepper, and vegetable oil to create a marinade.
  2. Place the fish fillets in the marinade and let them sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. While the fish is marinating, preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  4. Take a lime leaf, place a marinated fish fillet on it, and then top it with another lime leaf. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  5. Repeat the process for all fish fillets.
  6. Grill the fish for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Once done, remove from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
