- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - for serving
- Lime wedges - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, combine fish sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the cleaned mackerel fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Remove the mackerel from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
- Place the mackerel fillets on the grill, skin side down, and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
