Steps

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add sliced shallots and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and ground black pepper to the pot, stirring for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in fish sauce, coconut aminos, and brown erythritol sweetener. Mix well to combine.
  4. Add the mackerel fillets to the pot, gently turning them to coat in the sauce.
  5. Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
