- Fermented rice (cơm rượu) - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 100 milliliters
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
- Chopped cilantro - 2 tablespoons
- Sliced cucumber - 1 small
- Sliced radish - 1 small
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer or a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth for about 30 minutes until tender.
- While the rice is steaming, mix the fermented rice with coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a bowl until well combined.
- Once the rice is cooked, let it cool slightly, then combine it with the fermented rice mixture and stir gently to incorporate.
- Cover the mixture and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
