Ingredients

  • Grouper fillet - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon (sliced)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
  • Spring onions - 2 (chopped)
  • Fresh coriander - a handful (for garnish)
  • Lime - 1 (juiced)
  • Chili - 1 (sliced, optional)
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Prepare the grouper fillet by rinsing it under cold water and patting dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, ginger, garlic, lime juice, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Place the grouper in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well-coated. Allow it to marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. Set up a steamer over boiling water and place the marinated grouper on the steaming tray.
  5. Sprinkle chopped spring onions and sliced chili on top of the fish.
  6. Cover the steamer and steam the fish for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.
  7. Once done, carefully remove the fish and drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with fresh coriander.
