Ingredients

  • Jasmine rice - 150 grams
  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced (any color)
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a bowl, marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and sugar for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir-fry the minced garlic, sliced onion, bell pepper, and carrot for about 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and mix well with the vegetables. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes, adjusting seasoning with salt if necessary.
  6. Serve the beef stir-fry over the cooked jasmine rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
