Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 300 grams
- Rice (jasmine or basmati) - 150 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Fish sauce - 15 ml
- Brown sugar - 10 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Vegetable oil - 10 ml
- Cucumber (sliced) - 100 grams
- Carrot (julienned) - 50 grams
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams
- Lime wedges - 2 pieces
- Water - 300 ml
Steps
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
- Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Allow it to marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- In a pot, bring 300 ml of water to a boil. Add the soaked rice, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked. Fluff with a fork after cooking.
- While the rice is cooking, heat vegetable oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- Once the beef is done, remove it from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- To serve, place a portion of rice on each plate, top with grilled beef, and garnish with cucumber slices, julienned carrot, and fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
