- Coconut water - 250 ml
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, sliced thinly
- Lemongrass - 1 stalk, bruised and cut into 2-inch pieces
- Red chili - 1, sliced (optional)
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Prepare the fish fillets by rinsing them under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the garlic, ginger, fish sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Marinate the fish fillets in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
- Place the marinated fish on a heatproof plate. Scatter the lemongrass pieces and sliced chili (if using) over the fish.
- In a steamer pot, pour in the coconut water and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, carefully place the plate with the fish into the steamer, cover, and steam for about 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the plate from the steamer and garnish the fish with chopped cilantro and green onions before serving.
