- Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, for garnish
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 200 milliliters
Steps
- Prepare the fish by patting it dry with paper towels and seasoning both sides with salt and black pepper.
- In a heatproof dish, place the fish fillets and scatter the sliced ginger, lemongrass pieces, minced garlic, and sliced shallots evenly over the top.
- Drizzle the fish sauce and lime juice over the fish and toppings.
- Set up a steamer or a pot with a steaming rack and bring the water to a boil.
- Once boiling, carefully place the dish with the fish into the steamer or on the rack and cover with a lid.
- Steam the fish for about 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the dish from the steamer, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve immediately.
