- Wood chips (for smoking) - 1 cup
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, lime juice, chopped dill, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the salmon fillet in the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare your smoker by soaking wood chips in water for 30 minutes, then draining them.
- Preheat the smoker to a temperature of 80-90°C (175-195°F).
- Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker box or directly onto the heat source.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Place the salmon on the smoker rack and smoke for about 10-15 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the salmon from the smoker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
