- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Scallions - 2, chopped
- Lemon - 1, juice and zest
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and sesame oil in a bowl.
- Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the fish is well coated. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- While the salmon is marinating, fill a pot with water and bring it to a simmer. Place a steaming rack or a heatproof plate inside the pot.
- Once the water is simmering, place the marinated salmon on the steaming rack or plate. Sprinkle chopped scallions on top.
- Cover the pot with a lid and steam the salmon for about 10 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the salmon from the pot, garnish with fresh coriander and lemon zest, and serve immediately with steamed rice or vegetables.
