Ingredients

  • Salmon fillet - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, finely grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Scallions - 2, chopped
  • Lemon - 1, juice and zest
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  2. Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the fish is well coated. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. While the salmon is marinating, fill a pot with water and bring it to a simmer. Place a steaming rack or a heatproof plate inside the pot.
  4. Once the water is simmering, place the marinated salmon on the steaming rack or plate. Sprinkle chopped scallions on top.
  5. Cover the pot with a lid and steam the salmon for about 10 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the salmon from the pot, garnish with fresh coriander and lemon zest, and serve immediately with steamed rice or vegetables.
