- Lemongrass stalks - 2, minced
- Garlic cloves - 2, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chili (optional) - 1, sliced
- Water - 500 ml
Steps
- Prepare the salmon by patting it dry with a paper towel and placing it in a shallow dish.
- In a bowl, mix the minced lemongrass, minced garlic, grated ginger, fish sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the salmon fillet, ensuring it is well-coated. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Fill a steamer pot with 500 ml of water and bring it to a boil.
- Place the marinated salmon on a steaming plate or bamboo steamer and sprinkle chopped cilantro and sliced chili on top.
- Once the water is boiling, place the steaming plate in the steamer and cover it with a lid.
- Steam the salmon for 12-15 minutes or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve the steamed salmon hot with steamed rice and a side of lime wedges.
